It's that time of year, when many of us are starting to plan our change into our non-winter sport activities. While the winter sport season isn't quite giving up just because the calendar says it's spring, we should begin at least planning our transition, as well as making sure we are doing whatever we can to make the spring season a time when we are good to our bodies, despite our innate fever for doing both spring/summer sports while also getting in the last of the ski season & going to as many tournaments as we can before the ice melts. Optimizing Natural Motion™

Recent research titled Changes in multi-segment foot biomechanics with a heat-mouldable semi-custom foot orthotic device (Benson and Ferber) published in the Journal of Foot and Ankle Research on June 21, 2011 shows that SOLE Custom Footbeds reduce plantar fascia strain by 34% but do not control other measured foot biomechanics (including rearfoot, shank, or arch deformation) compared to walking without an orthoses. The research also states that "...the moulded condition resulted in overall greater reductions in plantar fascia strain compared to the non-moulded condition." The research was exhibited at the National Athletic Trainers Association in June 2011

The unofficial start of summer, as well as the second weekend of King Fishing in the Anchor!

Hi Friends!

We are happy to report that we have got new spring items rolling in daily, and that the latest batch included great new accessories from Haiku, DaKine & Pistil.

The Haiku bags feature fantastic organization so that we no longer have to waste precious time finding that favorite pen of ours, as well as lovely bright colors and patterns.

Along with over the shoulder styles, we also received some super cute iPad cases from Haiku!

We're also excited about the new spring collection from DaKine, for guys and gals! Great new prints and colors. Yes, we have some carry on luggage in stock should you be planning a trip somewhere!

Happy spring! (we wish)

While the weather is still quite wintry, we are happy to report that new spring lines such as those from Arc'teryx, Patagonia & Moving Comfort are In the store!

It is such a delight to see lovely bright spring colors upon entering the shop from a whiteout. Believe us.

If you can't take some of the lighter pieces off to a tropical vacation, don't worry, we still have plenty of insulative baselayers, outerwear, gloves, mittens & hats in stock.

If you are going on vacation, we have some great luggage in stock from DaKine & travel accessories from Eagle Creek.

We are open 10-6 Monday through Saturday and Sunday noon to 5.

Happy Boots and Sweater Season!!! Happy Fall!

Well well well our favorite time of year is here - it's BOOT AND SWEATER TIME!!!!

We aren't quite sure which came first, our love for boots & sweater or love for living in Alaska, but either way we are happy around here.

We've got some pretty fabulous boots (if we do say so ourselves) from UGG Austraila, Keen, Dansko, Merrell & Sanita, & cozy cute sweaters for everyone! Chunky knit, uber fine merino, even sweater knit fleece ensure a cute and cozy 'film & novel season' (read resting up from a busy summer and staying dry curled up next to the fire listening to the rain).

Of course, we do indeed need to apologize for the delay in posting... and assure you that we will be here with updates more often! Many of you know we've gone through a lot of changes over the past few months and we've had a lot to catch up on, unfortunately our blog fell victim to that. Please forgive us. We've returned from market with some great new lines for you to enjoy! This is a great new line of earrings by Washington artist Heather Ramsey.

Super fun, colorful & intricate, these lightweight jewels are super fun.

Each one is unique, as they are made with recycled pop cans!

We think we've spotted Coca-Cola, Grape Fanta, and Orange Crush, all coordinating perfectly with our bright new spring colors in stock and arriving daily.

It may still be snowing, but it's never to early for flowers, especially if they are dangling from your ears!

Technically, it is spring, so we do need flowers, after all...
